Untitled

Summer 2017
Chalk, paint, pencil, & colored pencil on collaged paper, mat board & wood

Similar to my previous entry, ‘Ambition’, I drew a quick rough sketch (the boy running into the woods) and then cut a silhouette shape around it (the foreground trees). This time however, I refused to settle for just a single image. I began asking myself more and more questions. Who are these people? Where are they? What place is this?

Rather than forcing answers to achieve a vision, I continue with my normal process of answering questions with brushstrokes. I continued adding panels to the left and right ends until the world actually felt populated- and not artificially so.
