Red’s Perch

Red spends her days picking pockets and, well, getting away with it. As a result, she tends to be found in places where she can’t be found.

Like a lot of my favorites, this one started as a crummy sketch on a crummier piece of paper. Once the paper started rejecting pencil detail, I revived it with pointillismic paint-dots for skin tones. I ended up with a pretty face over a splatter of black paint. I was able to once again revive the drawing by finding a function for the black mass: establish her surroundings.
